While Reptile, Sub Zero, Cassie and Takeda sneak in through the backdoor. The outworld heavy hitters (Kotal, Ermac and Ferra/Torr) along with Frost, Jacqui and Kung Jin storm the front and take on the revenants. Kotal´s troops and the Link Kuei take on the demons. Cassie starts speaking, uniting the 3 teams (lin kuei, sf, and outworld) and states an attack strategy. Cassie is unsure but Sub-Zero urges her to take leadership and to start attacking the temple.
Though the coms, Sonya asks them to wait for SF, since they are bringing Her, Kenshi, Jax and Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion). Also by this time, the Link Kuei joins them in the forest, along with some the Shirai Ryu, with Sub-zero as a Leader and Frost as his general (why show her in chapter 9 when she is going to disappear for the rest of the game?).Ī small difference is that Shinnok has flooded the temple with demons because, why have only 6 guards when you have an army of undead at your disposal? Rather than trying to ally with Shinnok, he sees him as a new threat to outworld.
In what would be chapter 11, when Kotal Kahn enters through a portal to Earthrealm, he immediately sees the red sky. I would like to propose a solution to 2 of the biggest problems: lack of development of characters, and inconsistent power levels, while only drastically changing the last 2 chapters: Jacqui Briggs and Cassie Cage. A lot of people, including myself, felt like the final chapter was a bit weird, since the 4 newbies took defeated Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana, Sindel, Smoke, D´vorah and CORRUPTED SHINNOK. The story felt like it had a lot of wasted potential, since it only explored 4 of the 8 new comers. Like many others, I was a bit let down after finishing the mkx story mode, I expected something a lot more epic, like the prequel comics which were amazing.
